Today I started cracking open the 1997 Honda CR-V. This thing had bad valves when I got it two years ago and I got the head cleaned and resurfaced but that wasn’t enough as it was past the point of no return. Make sure you check your valves on the mid nineties Honda 4 cylinder engines approximately every 30,000 km. The valves can get pulled in to the block and then not seat properly causing a misfire and eventual head cracking. The valve lash measurements are under your hood on a sticker.
